Guitar Neck
The guitar neck is an essential part of the instrument. The neck contains the fretboard, which is used to play individual notes as well as chords. It is generally manipulated with the left hand, but can be restrung to accommodate left handed players.
A guitar neck must be straight in order to be effective. Because most necks are made from wood, nearly every guitar maker uses a metal truss rod to ensure they do not warp. These rods are threaded through the center of the neck and sometimes need to be adjusted.
A custom guitar neck can be added to nearly any guitar. They are usually added to an instrument to make them more playable to the guitarist. However, custom necks can be expensive, and should always be installed by a professional.
